Item Description

Haiweeite is a fairly rare hydrated calcium uranium silicate, and some of the best known examples are micro specimens from Brazil. This piece is a good overall piece featuring micro bright yellow "sprays" of Haiweeite, but the most interesting fact about the piece is that it actually features pseudomorphs of Opal replacing Haiweeite! I've never heard of this phenomenon occuring with these specimens before. Additionally, upon close inspection one can clearly see crystals of yellow Uranophane along with deep purple Fluorite plus Calcite, Albite and Muscovite (?) Mica. A great piece to view under the microscope as there truly is a lot going on here. This material is nearly impossible to find on the market, and certainly worth picking up if you collect rarities or micros. We've photographed the piece with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. Don't miss out on this one as we have few to offer, and this is one of the best ones.
