Item Description

This is a rarity, a really good quality piece of lapidary grade "Aventurine" from Quebec. This is not an actual species, but rather a piece of Quartz mixed with green Mica (most likely Muscovite / Fuchsite). The material if polished will have a lovely external gloss, and can be used for beads or cabochons. This piece is 100% natural and is not dyed or treated in any way. I found a brief mention of the material on a Canadian website (https://www.mern.gouv.qc.ca/english/mines/industry/architectural/architectural-quarrying-stones-gneiss-aventurine.jsp), and the piece originally came from Frank and Wendy Melanson.
