Mackayite (very rare)

Item Description

A very rarely seen example of the iron tellurite Mackayite from the San Miguel Mine in Sonora, Mexico. Micro olive green crystals of Mackayite can be seen under magnification. If you're a rare mineral collector, be sure to pick this one up. This piece comes with a label from Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, which states that the San Miguel Mine is the type locality for the species, but it's actually the Mohawk Mine in Nevada.
