Tanzanite is one of the most popluar gems in the world, and fine crystals are fast becoming some of the most desireable gem crystals in the world. It is not common to find Tanzanite crystals that feature more than one color in one direction like this attractive thumbnail specimen. This piece is a beautiful, rare, bi-colored, Tanzanite. The piece features a translucent, tapered crystal with a beautiful blue color at the base with a lovely pinkish-purple color at the top. This piece exhibits slight pleochroism (purple can be seen when looking across the "b" axis) but due to the thin nature of the piece, it's not incredibly strong.
