Item Description

A new find that I picked up in Tucson this year featuring semi "rosette"-shaped groups of reddish "Ruby Jack" Sphalerite with "balls" measuring up to 2.1 cm across aeshetically set atop sparkling golden semi-iridescent Marcasite matrix. The underlying host rock seems to be composed of granular grey sparkling Quartz. The piece has good three-dimensional form and displays well from from the front. The main group of Sphalerites is undamaged, while one of the smaller groups does have a contact. Overall, it's one of the best / showiest pieces of this elusive material that I've seen from this lesser known locality in Washington County, Missouri. If you collect sulfides, midwest specimens or simply attractive display specimens, this is a good pickup for you.
