Item Description

Scholzite is a rare hydrated calcium zinc phosphate, and arguably the best examples of the species are those from Reaphook Hill in Australia. This is a classic example of the material featuring beautiful, sharp, prismatic, beige-golden colored thin bladed "needles" of Scholzite measuring up to 8 mm associated with Metaswitzerite on oxidized matrix. From the collection of Paolo Matioli. A great rarity to be sure, and worth picking up if you collect phosphates, Australian minerals or just general worldwide rarities.
