Item Description

Over 35 years ago, there were a handful of very good quality Arsenopyrite specimens on the market from the San Jose mine, but they all seemed to have dried up. This is one of the more attractive specimens of this material that I have offered for sale because it is just covered with fantastic, sharp, bright, prismatic Arsenopyrite crystals plus minor golden Pyrite on the back. The largest Arsenopyrite crystal measures 7 mm in length. This piece was mined in 1980 and is a great example of this old material from one of the most famous mines in the Bolivian tin belt. I know this appears to be fairly common, but it's certainly worth picking up if you collect sulfides, Bolivian minerals or well-crystallized examples of mineral species. The piece is not damage free, but there are still plenty of fine quality crystals to be seen.
