Item Description

This mine is renowned for its superb pink Rhodochrosite specimens which are sometimes associated with green Fluorites. This is the ideal combination for collectors of this material, and it is almost impossible to find on the market today. This piece has a coverage of beautifuly, gemmy, light green color, stacked cubic crystals of gemmy Fluorite associated with soft pink Rhodochrosite. Overall, the piece is in great condition, and the largest Fluorite crystal measures 6 mm. Some of the most classic and HIGHLY sought after Fluorites in all of the U.S. came from the historic Sunnyside mine in San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9319). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A great combo specimen of this attractive and rarely seen material.
