Cinnabar (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A classic specimen of the famous Cinnabars from the Nikitovka Hg Deposit in the former Soviet Union (now modern day Ukraine) featuring dozens of fine, sharp, gemmy, rich red colored crystals and contact / penetration twins of Cinnabar measuring up to 4 mm on matrix. The accompanying label refers to the twins as "star"-shaped. A wonderful example of this now hard to find material. A cool piece to add to a worldwide sulfide collection or a suite of Cinnabars. Beautiful to view up close with a loupe or under the microscope. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6258).
