Item Description

A beautifully crystallized group of compressed rhombic Siderite from Machacamarca. The tightly intergrown "disc"-shaped crystals show the typical greenish-brown hue that we're used to seeing from this locality, but if you look closely, the edges of each crystal show dozens of tiny crystallized faces! This particular habit of Siderite from Machacamarca might be common, but the small accenting faces on the edges is certainly rare in my experience with this material. The largest Siderite measures 3.5 cm across and they are sitting on a bit of Pyrite coated matrix. Very showy and three-dimensional, and not your run-of-the-mill Siderite from Bolivia, this one is different and special.
