Item Description

A showy old-time combination from the famous Himalaya Mine. Ten bi-colored tourmalines are aesthetically embedded on the front of massive to partially euhedral quartz. Most of the tourmalines have classic "Himalaya pink" bodies with very dark purple to black to dark green matte terminations. The basal sections are mostly schorl. Accessories include cleavelandite blades and a few pink lepidolite plates and muscovite plates. A rich, showy and highly representative tourmaline combination from this noted locale from the Kay Robertson Collection # 3485. Old-time material acquired from Sol Shale in the early to mid-1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
