Item Description

A lovely historic specimen from one of the most classic localities in all of Europe (and the TYPE LOCALITY for Auzrite)! This piece is a layered semi-"rosette"-shaped group of minty green Malachite which has completely pseudomorph preexisting Azurite. Good quality considering the age of the specimen. It is very difficult for collectors to obtain fine quality specimens of this material today, and these pseudomorphs are not nearly as common from Chessy as they are from other places. This specimen was mined in the early 1800s, so it's nearly 200 years old! A great specimen for any collector, a collector of European classics, or anyone who appreciates seconday ore minerals.
