Item Description

A handful of fairly sharp, translucent, colorless rhombic Calcite crystals measuring up to 1.2 cm are associated with sharp, lustrous, black Melandite (Andradite) Garnet dodecahedra on matrix from an undisclosed locality in San Benito County, California. A cool association specimen, and a worthwhile display specimen of this lesser seen material. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#2211). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
