Item Description

This old iron-lead-copper mine has been closed for nearly 60 years, and specimens are virtually impossible to find on the market. This is the only piece of Pyrite from the Vereinigung Mine that we've had to offer. Sharp, well-formed, slightly iridescet, lustrous, cubes of Pyrite with interesting "dimpled" faces measuring up to 3 mm sit on beige colored rhombic Dolomite matrix. GOOD quality and RARE in terms of the locality. A great piece to add to a suite of German minerals. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5846). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
