Glaucophane (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A rarely seen specimen of the Amphibole species, Glaucophane from an undisclosed locality in Lake County, California (possibly from the Wall Street Mine). Dozens if not hundreds of thin, prismatic, greenish-black colored crystals are frozen into the host rock matrix. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#143). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
