Hematite with Rutile on Quartz (ex Rolando Gioia Collection)

Some of the most iconic Rutile / Hematite specimens in the world are those from Novo Horizonte. This piece is a wonderful example of the 2008 find featuring golden Rutile crystals epitaxially flaring off a silvery Hematite center sitting along side the edge of a very sharp, gemmy, prismatic Quartz crystal. The Rutiles have formed beautiful six-sided "stars". No damage, save the bottom where it detached from the pocket wall.
