Scheelite on Zinnwaldite (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A great old classic specimen from Zinnwald featuring dozens of tiny Scheelite crytsals on Zinnwaldite Mica. Obviously this Mica gets its name from the locality, but it's not terribly common on the market, and iconic for what it is. Prismatic Quartz can be seen associated on the piece as well. Good quality all around, and certainly worth picking up if you collect historic specimens or European classics. Keep in mind that mining took place in this area since the 12th century until the end of the 20th century. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
