Item Description

Stibivanite is an extremely rare antimony vanadium oxide that is only found in TWO localities in the world. Interestingly, one locality is in Canada, while the other is in Italy, yet they are co-type localities for the species. This piece is from the Lake George Antimony mine, in New Brunswick, Canada. With that said, it's next to impossible to obtain specimens of Stibivanite on the marke, and if you collect rare species, you can't afford to miss out on this one. The piece features a small yellow paper arrow that points to the micro acicular green crystals in the vug of the host rock matrix. We've photographed the crystals with a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. SUPER RARE, so don't pass it up! Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10144). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
