Mount Saint-Hilaire is one of the world's most significant localities, and produces many "best in the world" specimens of a lot of minerals. The Rhodochrosites from this locality are distinctive and some of the most unique examples of the species in terms of habit and color. This piece features a very sharp and gemmy rich orange-red colored rhombohedral crystal of Rhodochrosite measuring 6 mm sitting aesthetically on matrix. This locality is now off limits for collecting, and specimens will become very difficult to obtain.
