Item Description

A very hard to find specimen from this oddball lithium-cesium-tantalum pegmatite locality in Madagascar. We've actually never had a specimen to offer from this locale, and I think it would make a great addition to a Quartz suite or a collection of Madagascar minerals. A handful of sharp, lustrous, GEMMY, colorless prismatic hexagonal Quartz crystals are flaring out of massive Quartz matrix. The crystals have a slight reddish tinge from minor iron inclusions, giving them a pleasing two-tone appearance. The piece is in great shape overall, with only a few tiny nicks here and there. A cool display specimen from this remote locale in the Central Highlands of Madagascar. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9268). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
