Item Description

A super and rare 8-piece thumbnail set of classic cyclically-twinned chrysoberyl crystals from Espirito Santo State, Brazil. All of the gemmy and lustrous crystals have classic beautiful yellow-green color and are pristine. Two of the crystals have the classic and highly desirable 6-sided symmetry. The other crystals are partially sixlings or have exotic forms, such as heart-shaped, heart-shaped elongated and the striking large crystal with a fan shape. The crystals are probably from Colatina or Itaguacu. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 4224 and acquired in the mid-1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A RARE and highly desirable set valued at $1250-1500.
