Item Description

A classic and beautiful, 13.8 cm, doubly terminated and twinned glassy calcite crystal is artistically set on top of the 14.5 cm long compound calcite crystal on this impressive large specimen from the famous Elmwood Mine. Highly desirable and striking, gem, rich golden-amber tips highlight the crystal, for which the mine is renowned. Scattered flecks of bitumen, non-fluorescent hydrocarbon, are included in the base of the piece and the bit of attached limestone matrix on one side adds character. The gorgeous large crystal is pristine, except for a couple of tiny edge wilbers. The contacting and cleaving lower on the piece have minimal impact to the overall high quality of this sculptural large older piece from the Consie Prince Collection. Valued at $750-1000.
