Item Description

Gem, pretty lavender, textbook, hexagonal, tabular apatite crystals, to 1.7 cm, are aesthetically clustered on the small cabinet plate covered with contrasting jackstraw pearlescent cleavelandite blades. Apatites of this color and high quality are uncommon and are a desirable Urucum classic. Periphery wear on back side has minimal impact to the high quality of this combination piece. Yellow fluorescence. OLD-TIME, rare material from this famous pegmatite. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 1705 and acquired in July, 1960! Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
