Item Description

Gorgeous, rich lilac-colored, glassy, gemmy/translucent, parallel-growth, textbook apatite crystals form a beautiful and classic thumbnail from this well-known Li-rich pegmatite. The sharp complex terminations are nearly colorless. These are fairly LARGE and rare excellent apatites for the locale. Unusually, only the glassy, nearly colorless terminations fluoresce yellow. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 8470 and acquired at the Tucson Show in 1978. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
