This aesthetic and excellent parallel-growth quartz crystal specimen is composed entirely of glassy, translucent, bipyramidal or beta milky quartz crystals - high temperature quartz with a hexgonal rather than a trigonal form. The sharp and textbook capping crystals rest atop stepped-growth crystals with the same form. The famous mines at Dal'negorsk are well-known for bipyramidal quartz pieces and this highly representative example is from the well-known Bor Pit. Classic Dal'negorsk quartz and displays very well without aid.
