Item Description

A RARE and outstanding California pseudomorph from the limited 1976 finds near Baker in the Soda Moutains. Pretty greenish-blue turquoise has replaced two sharp hexagonal apatite crystals in the altered granite matrix. The large pseudo is 8 mm across. This is a LARGE crystal for the find and locale, as most such crystals were about 3 mm. A choice and rare pseudomorph from the Kay Robertson Collection # 8680. Kay acquired this fine rarity from the Hamels at the Tucson Show in 1979. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A MUST for the pseudomorph, California or species collector!
