Item Description

A RARE, OLD-TIME combination accessory specimen from this famous extinct mine, the world's only mine for cryolite. The massive quartz matrix hosts a rare, single, sharp, 5 mm, columbite crystal, fragments of smaller columbites and scattered sections of uncommon lustrous brown siderite crystals. Old rare combination material from Wenzel Fric of Prague with his late 1800s - early 1900s labels. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 6521 and acquired in 1971 from the Cisneros'. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
