Item Description

Three pristine intergrown barite stalactites are encased in scintillating iridescent marcasite microcrystals on this striking 360-degreee specimen. A most colorful and sculptural combination from the well-known extinct copper mine, active from 1961-68 (MINDAT). The broken base reveals the hollow tubes, where precipitating barite fluids flowed. Collectors are now recovering fine gypsum, barite and marcasite specimens here. Certainly a fascinating, excellent and unusual combination!
