Item Description

Sharp, pretty pastel-pink rhodochrosite rhombs, to 1.5 cm on the diagonal, are peppered with tiny pyritohedrons and richly cover the sculptural matrix of quartz points on this classic and aesthetic combination from the famous mines at Butte. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 2824, dating the piece to the early 1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
