Beryl var. Morganite (ex Obodda)

Item Description

A cute and classic morganite thumbnail from the Herb Obodda dealer stock. The upper portion of the pretty pink, tabular, textbook hexagonal crystal is beautiful water-clear gem. The lower interior is translucent. Both prism faces are sharp and smooth like glass, showing very little of the typical etching one normally sees in morganites from here. As is typical for this locality, edge faces are glassy, etched and frosted. Embedded muscovite plates and a bit of albite are typical accessories. A high quality morganite thumbnail from Afghanistan. Herb valued this gemmy beauty at $250, more than six years ago. It is certainly worth more today!
