Item Description

Mineral specimens are uncommon and desirable from this old and extinct Hg-Sb producing district. This is a rich old-time two-sided combination specimen of sprays of splendent metallic stibnite crystals, to about 3.5 cm, altering to very uncommon stibiconite. The sprays richly cover the front and are scattered on the back. RARE and rich combination ore material from here. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 5489 and acquired from the American Museum in the late 1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A MUST for the California or species collector.
