Wolframite w/ Calcite & Apatite (Soregaroli Coll.)

Item Description

A most sculptural and excellent two-sided combination small cabinet from this famous mine. The striking, blocky, boot-shaped matrix is composed of terminated, splendent, jet-black, striated, parallel-growth wolframite blades. Lustrous, translucent calcite rhombs are richly and preferentially clustered on the wolframites, even on the broken and healed base. Five, small, gemmy light green fluorapatite crystals, to 5 mm, are noted on the sides (4 on one side and one on the other). A broken arsenopyrite crystal and a few muscovite plates are set in the instep of this excellent piece. Complete all-around and nearly pristine. Bruising at the "toe" is certainly only a modest detraction to this very fine combination from the Art Soregaroli Collection.
