Item Description

Glassy, translucent, light apple-green bladed anapaite crystals fill the interior along with ironstone of a sharp, well-ribbed, fossilized mollusc shell from the Ukraine. This locality is now extinct and specimens are hard to obtain. Anapaite, a phosphate, is found in lacustrine (lake) sediments. A rich and exceptional miniature example from the Kay Robertson Collection # 10326. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). this is a superb example of this rarity!
