Item Description

Mineral specimens of any species are rare and desirable from this well-known Colorado open pit and underground gold mine, that was active from the 1880s until about 1938. Siderite is EXTREMELY RARE and this is an exceptional siderite and pyrite combination. A mirror-bright 1.3 x 1.3 x 1.2 brassy pyrite cube is aesthetically tucked into the top of a sculptural cluster of sharp brown siderite rhombs accented with a single terminated quartz point. VERY RARE old-time combination material from the Dr. Barratt Phillips Collection. A MUST for the species or Colorado collector!
