Description:Star gems are not terribly common in the world, and despite the vast number of Quartz gems in the world, very few of them have stars present. This star effect is called asterism in the gem world, and it occurs when small inclusions of one mineral are reflected inside of the host gem. This Star Quartz stone has a golden hue (it looks much more smoky in the photos), and is very gemmy for a star gem. It has a "Round Cabochon" cut and under strong lighting shows a faint 6-ray star. The star is somewhat milky, and it was difficult to photograph, but it IS there. Don't miss out on this rare Quartz stone. Enjoy.
