Description:Unique material featuring intense blue Apatite and fiery orange Calcite from Canada (I don't know for sure if it's from Bancroft or the Yates Mine in Quebec). I'm fairly certain that the stone has been heated to intensify the color, which is a perfectly safe and acceptable practice in the gem world, especially for the material like this. The stone is really eye-catching in person, and truly would make for a unique piece of jewelry. The "Cushion Cabochon" cut, along with the impressive size are both pleasing attributes of this colorful and fairly hard to find material. With very strong backlighting, one can see the true intensity of the colors, as they are almost neon in person. A cool gem and different from the majority of stones that we've offered over the years.
