Description:Ussingite is a colorful member of the Sodalite group usually showing a light pink or violet hue. It was named after Niels Viggo Ussing who was a professor of mineralogy at University of Copenhagen. Most Ussingite, despite the pretty color, is translucent at best, but I've only seen a few facetted stones of this material, and it is extremely rare. This stone is translucent and has a pleasing pinkish-purple color with a "Pear" cut. Another great rare gem to add to your collection.
