Description:Garnet comes in virtually every color of the rainbow. Typically the reddish-orange color Grossular Garnets are referred to as "Hessonite" Garnet. I've seen this material for a few years now and it is very impressive for Grossular both from the standpoint of color. Most Garnets are not seen in faceted gems over 4 carats, so this gem is a very good sized stone. This "Oval" cut gem is only very slightly included, and has a great rich reddish-orange color. I think that this is a very underappreciated gem, and this color is not seen very often in Grossular so don't miss out. You don't see gems this size with this color on the market very often these days.
