Description:These Ruby / Zoisite specimens were found in Tanzania in 1954 (sometimes referred to as "Anyolite" after the Massai word for green), and are very popular among collectors either as cabochons or for carvings. This piece is a very nice "Emerald" cut stone of Ruby / Zoisite with a fair amount of white Quartz. Honestly there is more Ruby and Quartz in the piece, but there is a slight amount of light green Zoisite. It is a larger gem for the material, and one of the few with Quartz that I have seen.
