Description:Recently there was a good find of this classic Peruvian Pink Opal and I was happy to get my hands on some of these gems. Now these stones are almost always opaque, rarely translucent, but the soft to strong pink colors exhibited in these gems make them very desirable for collectors. Considering all the varieties and colors of Opal in the world, pink is not terribly common. The Peruvian gems are some of the finest I have seen for consistency of color in good sized stones. This "Round" cut gem is slightly translucent around the edges, but shows a lovely pink hue.
