Description:Every once in a while I like to throw a gem CRYSTAL into the gemstone auctions. A piece like this would make a great match for a rough and cut Spinel set. This piece is not a faceted stone, but rather a gem quality Ruby Spinel crystal that would easily be wirewrapped into a great piece of jewelry, or used as a reference piece to match a gemstone that you might have from this well known gem district. This highly transparent (better than the photos indicate) crystal has a very attractive pinkish-red color and is very sharp, and not at all rounded, like many of the crystals that are found in the various streams in Burma where this material originates.
