Description:Here is a specimen-grade example of salt in its native crystallized form. The piece has sharp crystals to 2 cm of halite, from the worlds biggest and most classic underground salt mine. It is a beautiful piece, complete all around, and totally worthy of being in a colelction on its own aesthetic merits, saide from showing that yes, salt DOES actually occur as a crystallized mineral in nature. These transparent crystals have been known for hundreds of years and shown in books as far back as mineralogy was written down, and today remain a classic of the hobby - though seldom seen on the market
