Description:This is a relatively large platinum nugget for the market these days. It is complete ALL AROUND and has a beautiful meteor-like pebbled exterior. It is , as far as they go, even relatively aesthetic (I have seen uglier). This piece came to me from an old German collection . At spot prices (http://www.kitco.com/charts/liveplatinum.html) it is worth $515 even just for melting. But , Platinum nuggets like this are MUCH MORE rare than gold nuggets, and as a collectible, much harder to come by. So it should be valued more like $1500-1800 as a specimen
