Item Description

A sculptural and RARE silver combination from the famous silver mines at Cobalt. Acanthite and erythrite are common enough accessories to silver specimens at Cobalt, but it is EXTREMELY RARE to find the three together. The sintered-looking leaf silver has an exotic folded form on one end. The other end has two embedded acanthite nodules with blebs and crusts of carmine-red erythrite. A small acanthite nodule on one side also has traces of erythrite. Shapely, choice and RARE combination material from the Kay Robertson Collection # 12676. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
