Item Description

A dramatically etched heliodor crystal from this well-known pegmatite famous for rose quartz and phosphates. The gemmy, very glassy and lustrous is unusually tabular and has rich honey-yellow heliodor color. The crystals glows, when backlit. Heliodor specimens are very uncommon from here and this is a striking and excellent example of this rare style from the Kay Robertson Collection # 11495. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). 77 grams mass.
