Item Description

A very cute and sculptural tourmaline and smoky quartz combination from the famous Himalaya Mine. Two gemmy and lustrous bi-colored tourmalines with matte-finish dark purple terminations are very aesthetically set on either side of the euhedral smoky quartz crystal. The beautiful gem large tourmaline is 3.9 cm. The light smoky is transparent, has a striking sharp chisel termination and has mostly frosted faces with a couple of water-clear faces. The small tourmaline is pristine and the larger one has just a bit of termination scuffing. An adorable and uncommon combination from the 1970s or 80s finds from the Kay Robertson Collection # 8506. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
