Item Description

A fascinating and sculptural pair of gemmy, bi-colored, multiple crystal tourmaline thumbnails from the famous Cruzeiro Mine. The strikingly angled, stacked, larger piece is doubly terminated, with the basal termination being purple. A beautiful, limpid light cranberry-red body is capped by a gemmy/translucent teal-green top. The jauntily angled water-clear to translucent terminated top crystal is light grass-green. Nearly pristine, with only a trivial bit of termination edge wear at the top. A glorious, gem, light cranberry-red elbaite set on a bed of lepidolite crystals is aesthetically set on the side of a translucent bottle-green tourmaline with a pink base. Both ends of the gem crystal are broken. The large crystal is doubly terminated with the base being a healed break. A very cool looking old-time pair from the 1960s and 70s finds. 39.89 carats or nearly 8 grams total mass. 19.26 and 20.63 carats respectively.
