Item Description

Beraunite, rare Fe-phosphate, specimens of this richness and quality are RARE from this old long extinct iron mine in phosphorus-rich ore. Sharp, two-toned radial spheres, to 7 mm, of acicular crystals are aesthetically clustered on the top of the limonite matrix. The two sides on the back are nearly solid beraunite, making this a very rich example of the species from this locale. Undoubtedly old-time material from an East Coast collection and comes with a torn Hugh Ford label dating from 1946-57.
