Epidote and Byssolite

Actinolite variety byssolite is VERY rare from Hachupa. The matrix on this striking piece is a SOLID mat of soft-to-the-touch, felt-like, byssolite fibers. The gem, olive-green, epidote crystals, to 3.5 cm, dramatically project upward at the same angle from the matrix. A couple of the large epidotes have broken terminations, which is certainly only a modest detraction. Beautiful and unique combination material from the Herb Obodda dealer stock and displays superbly from either side. Herb valued this rarity at $350, five or more years ago. Value today is $450-600.
