Item Description

Beautiful navy-blue, nubby azurite botryoids with complimentary crusts of malachite fill all of the many vugs on all sides of the sculptural gossan matrix on the outstanding and aesthetic old-time combination from this famous and extinct Tintic District, Utah mine. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 12802. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). The old faded label undoubtedly dates to the late 1800s or early 1900s, during active mining. Specimens of the combination quality and richness are RARE and are seldom on the market. A MUST for the Utah or species collector.
